Where can I find World of Warcraft lore or history?

Preferrably, that reads like a book on an internet site or in chronological bullets. A fair amount of games seem to have so much history and present it really well. I am just interested…and a wow player of course.

Wow sucks, GTFO please.
Umm… you can look in the WoW manual and read some of it’s history, or play Warcraft 1, 2, and 3 and read their manuals. I know Warcraft 3 explains how the Lich King rises up to power and transforms from good to evil. And Warcraft 1 explains about the Orcs coming into the world.
I don’t know about any websites that have all of that stuff together though. Just the manuals for the Warcraft games have a story section.

You can visit the World of Warcraft community site or go directly to the story section here, http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/index.html You have to keep in mind that reading the “lore,” “canon,” or whichever term you wish to use off of the website is an abbreviated one at best. In the World of Warcraft much of the lore is only LOOSELY incorporated into the game in comparison to Warcraft itself.
Additionally (if you have the time) you can delve your senses into the novel series and get an even deeper view of the history and storylines.

Chronological order within the Warcraft Universe is still kind of difficult.
They still have quite a few unexplained paradoxes.
If you want to know the story, the easiest way is to play the games, the REAL ones( Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness/Beyond the Dark Portal, and Warcraft 3:Reign of Chaos/The Frozen Throne).
After the games, if some questions are still bothering you, pick up the novels. They are incredibly well written books.
But as I said before, there are a lot of things that further explanation and retconing needs to be done by Blizzard.
But I warn you: After knowing the rich lore that is the Warcraft, it will be hard for you to enjoy WoW as much. Seeing as WoW offers nothing really by way of story.
I started learning back in the day with the first Warcraft games…then Warcraft 3 really increased the lore which really got me into it…then when i finally played WoW…it was like WoW!!!!….
Also WoWWiki is a great place for actual lore and also speculation.
