Set in Africa and using the same control scheme and gameplay mechanics as RE4, you'll be fighting enemies that are not your traditional zombie and likely have some relation to the Plagas in RE4. RE:UC is a twist on the on-rails lightgun genre (like Time Crisis or House of the Dead), that goes back through RE0, RE1, and RE3, as well as a new Umbrella stronghold mission where you play as Wesker. This will hopefully clarify some of the inconsistencies in the stories of the past games and solidify what actually is canon from those games. As an on-rails game, you do not have control over your movement. However, unlike most on-rails games, you will have turning control, which is used primarily to look around corners for herb and ammo for the more powerful weaponry. They are supposedly putting a strong focus on branching paths as well, which you can choose by shooting doors as you walk. RE5 is the next game in the series.
