What are the recuierments i have to do to play wrath of the lich king , could i begin from level 1?

Ok what are the recuierments i need to know to play wrath of the lich king , i already have the battle of chest do i ahve to upgrade it to burning ofcrusade. And can i begin from level 1.

   You do need burning crusades. And yes you do need to start at level 1.
