If a character dies in Mass Effect 1 do you lose all weapons that person had equipped?

On Virmire in Mass Effect 1, you have to chose between saving Ashely or Kaiden. I gave Ashely some Master Spectre weapons, and I want to know – if she dies, do I lose those weapons?

   You never see the character again. So yes, you loose everything that is equipped with that character.
