How to upgrade shops/stores, get better equipment in Fable 2?

How do you get shops in Fable 2, to sell better stuff? I own pretty much everything in Bowerstone etc. There are like stars (obv showing how great the quality the shop is) in the shop menu. How do I get these up, so they can sell better clothes, weapons etc?

Cheers.

The only way I know of is to get the town’s economy up. This can be done by slightly lowering the prices and rent on properties you own and buying anything you need (or don’t need) in that area. Also, avoid crime, as this will drastically lower the town’s economy over time. If you keep raising the town’s economy, the shops will start to stock better items.

Well, first off, lower all rent and prices, preferably in the negatives, this will get the economy up, and will help with the shop’s getting more stars. Two, buy all the items in the store, that will make money rise, better quality store. Third, work at the store (if you can, ex bartender, blacksmith) Those are three things you can do to increase the stores quality. Hope it helps.
