In Fable 2, my female character got married and had a baby in the game. Everything was good until my character return back home after the Crucible quest. The husband told my character that he had enough and that he was leaving for good. What’s worse was that he also took the baby with him. How can I keep a family together and have a baby grow into a child? Also, how long does it take for a baby to grow into a toddler and into a child? Thanks.

You have to visit frequently, and never leave them when they’re unhappy (if you have to spend five minutes performing expressions to cheer them up, do it). Increasing their allowance and redecorating your house helps, too, and so does bringing them gifts.
I’ve never timed how long it takes for a child to grow up. I know I’ve had it happen in one gaming session, though, so no more than five hours (probably less).
Well since you were gone for about 10 years your spouse left you- this is actually very common. If you are gone too long your spouse gets lonely. You need to stop in and visit your family on a regular basis. Make sure you always have their favorite gifts available to give them- giving someone their favorite present raises their happiness level very high quickly. If you check in your inventory and look under “Quests/Map” at the bottom of the list it says “Family”. If you look into the detail of your family it will actually tell you how they are feeling.
Babies grow into toddlers very quickly. Especially if you are gone for a while. I don’t know if there is a set amount of time.
smeelola’s right, (one in-game day roughly for the kid to grow up completely), it is a rather repetitive thing, having to continually return, I just don’t bother with it.
If your up to the hero of Will quest, get married and have a baby BEFORE then, then, after the quest your child’s age will increase significantly.
To keep your family together, you gotta keep your spouse happy. You can keep them happy by visiting more often and doing a lot of expressions on them. Living in a nice house with good furnishings helps too so if you have the money, move your family into a nicer house or buy more expensive furniture. The best way to keep em happy though is to increase their allowance. My wife wanted 20 gold a day to stay happy, so I give her about 200. Now, she is 100% happy pretty much all the time no matter how long I’m gone. Maybe you can’t afford that much now, but once you get a bunch of money and property, that is chump change compared to the 3000 gold youll be making every 5 minutes
Well FIRST DO NOT EVER EVER EVER pull your gun out unless you are evil and you child is evil. When you go see what your husbands want and it says he wants sex give him sex that would keep him happier. and give presents
It sounds like you havent gone on to the Tattered Spire yet. The Crucible is quite a long distance, and unless you didn’t waste any time at all, and went straight there from home and went straight back, it’s easy to get divorced.
You can help yourself out by setting the household budget far above what the required amount is. If you have a spouse and baby BEFORE doing the Tattered Spire quest, the baby will not grow up until you return 10 years later.
But there are serious marriage glitches, so your husband may be gone, and the child stuck right where the crib used to be when you get back. But there isn’t any way to avoid that glitch – some people get it, some don’t.
If you have already been to the Tattered Spire, then babies grow into children in just a few days.
Other than that, visit home often and give gifts to the husband and kids. If you are going to do a quest you should visit home before you leave and immediately after you’re done. If you are just exploring, return home every day.
If you can afford to take the carriage between towns, it’s worth the time savings.
Hey so i got a question, I kept my family happy and went to the tattered spire and came home to my family. What’s annoying is the game expects me to put 3 hours into dancing right outside my house to keep them from leaving. If i take more than 5 steps away (even if it’s into the house) they say im leaving. How do i prevent them from leaving me? I’ve gotten them to follow me upstairs so i could sleep for a few weeks but still they wont let me get more than 5 steps away from them before they assume im leaving forever. How do i make them let me leave after the tattered spire? Please help!
