How do i connect my xbox 360 up to xbox live?

I purchased an xbox 360, the basic core one and a few months later i purchased a 60GB hardrive. I have wireless broadband with virgin media for my laptop. I wondered how i get my 360 up and running to xbox live, i know i have to purchase a 1 year subscription gold xbox live card but do i need to buy anything else?

   Hi – I think you have to buy a USB wireless key that plugs into the port on the front of an Xbox. Unfortunately I think they are about £50! This video might help:

   u need to either purchase a wireless connector for your xbox 360 to recieve internet connection through your modem to ur 360 or an ethernet cable and basically just hook it up, once you’ve done that you can go and create and xbox live account which u do on the xbox itself,
   you will get 1 month free at that point when u sign up on a silver account, but it would be best to go out and buy a 1 yr gold sub for xbox live, then you can play online etc

   all you need is an ethernet wire or wireless thing basically plug wire into back of router and back of 360 and there you go.
   you can buy subscription online so you dont need a card and you can connect to xbox live without having to pay but with restricted service by seleting a silver account once youve paid £50 you will get gold account and trust me when i say it xbox live is the best thing about xbox by far.
   i would sell my 360 if it diddnt have live its all i do now play online with mates its great just to let you know my xbox acount is blownjacko so give me a shout if you need to know more

   If you are using wireless, you have to buy the Xbox wireless reciever to plug in the back of your Xbox, it’s about £60.
   Or you could get an ethernet cable to plug in the back of your xbox from your modem. But that is only possible if the xbox is near your modem.

   From there you buy the Xbox Live subscription and press ‘Connect to Xbox Live’/'Join Xbox Live’ from your xbox and follow the instructions.
