Because the whole point of lending money is you charge interest and end up getting more money back. Most bums will spend the money on drugs and alcohol and wont be able to pay you back at all.

It is because they want a return on their investment. Would YOU loan money to a homeless bum? Unless you ever wanted to see it again, you would not. Business is business.

well, first there is nothing to use as collaterall for them to pay it back, i mean, would you lend money to a homeless person, or adict, or anyone living in the streets, and honestly expect to get it back….

There is no way to insure they get paid. A homeless bum has no home of record so he can take the money and just skip town. He has no phone number and can’t be tracked.

Also you said loan money. Their is a big difference between loaning money and giving money. I have gave money to the homeless before because it is a good thing to do. But whats better is to try and help them. Ask them if they have family they can contact and if so call them on your cell phone or give them a phone card. Don’t let them use your cell phone because they may run off with it. If they don’t have anyone they can contact ask them if they are a war vetaran. If so call the local National Guard and they may be able to help them. A lot of our homeless now days are people who have had a hard time adjusting to society after they fought in Vietnam and the Korean war. If not then see if they would be willing to get a job. Buy them a nice set of clothes and offer to give them money for a bus ride to the local employment office. Plus never forget that if you contact a church for them they may be able to help them get back on their feet.

Because you have to have collateral. They look at your credit score to apply for jobs now. They want to keep the poor people poor. They only loan money to people who don’t actually need money.

Because homeless people are not likely to pay these people back their money, so they don’t choose to do business with them.

Professionals lend money to people they trust will pay it back, with interest. It is illogical to assume a person with out a home and spending his time bumming (begging) will be able to pay back the money. They are in business!

If there’s not gonna be a return then they are not gonna invest. The banks and even the mafia exist to make a profit. They aren’t gonna trust their money to someone who’s gonna drink it away or puff it through a pipe. I’m certainly not gonna hand my money over to someone who has no interest in bettering themselves.

Banks and Mafia’s dont lend money to the homeless for the simple fact, they are often responsible for puting them there in the first place. It especially goes for the banks!!!!
