Did the people that stole the Half Life 2 Source code ever get caught?

A couple of years ago, just before Valve released Half Life 2, someone hacked into their network and stole the entire source tree of the game. They then released it on the internet. Was anyone ever prosecuted for this and did the full story every come out?

   Yes. He emailed Gabe and ended up getting himself arrested.
